I've been a fan of Chuck's work for a long time. He combines great designs, woods, and top-notch workmanship.

He recently came out with his 20th Anniversary model. It is very much inspired by the Telecaster hollowbody. He made 10 of them I believe. Each is different in some way.

First, here is his first take on the Tele. This one was built in 2015 and weighs 7.5 lbs. It has the Nashville wiring and a medium fat neck, not quite what I'd call a '59. Note the top carve. Like all Thorntons, it plays easily.

The new guitar arrived today. It looks exactly like the pics.

I waited today for the delivery. The package required a signature. It was about 25 degrees out and snowing. I was about 15 feet from the front door and heard nothing. My email popped up saying it was delivered. Sure enough, UPS dropped it off on my front porch without knocking or ringing the doorbell.

I opened the box and took out the padding. I let it warm up in the box with the case closed for about six hours. I took the case out and let that warm up for another 3 hours. I stuck a finger in the case and felt the guitar was warm enough. I then took the guitar out.

The neck I'd call a medium C carve. The action is low. I haven't plugged it in yet. It's light at 6.5 lbs. It has a pair of Harmonic Design Super 90s. Tele page I read about and listened to these pickups before buying. They sound good.

Received my last Thornton this week. It's very light, <6 lbs. It sounds great and is easy to play. The pics look red, but the finish is translucent brown.
