Fantastic tone and monster chops. A winning combo.

P.S. love the jazz cat look too Jack.

haha, thanks. I actually have a sensitivity to bright lights so if I record with my studio lights on, i wear the sunglasses to protect my eyes.

I’m digging the chord idea at
exactly 2:00
(I can’t really understand it tho)
it’s at bar 4 of the Bb blues form
are you playing
Fmin (via Bb7) to get to the 4 chord Eb ?
(ie a 2 5 idea to get to the 4 chord Eb ?)
sounds great anyway !!
-
That's exactly right. Fm7 / moving up to Fm9 and fm11 followed by Bb7 and E13

In Jazz, it is OK to steal, so long as you do not do all your looting at one single store

Focusing on the guitar can help and probably if you teach much and get good feedback that is always good.
The Holst just looks so nice and the overall picture of the guitar I like. It has the traditional stuff in looks and I like that plus is sounds so smooth. I recently made a pickguard for a local player around here who has a Holst. It was single built in pickup with a carved spruce top. The guitar looks and played fine when I did the work but the owner told me maybe a year or so ago, he had to get major work done. The neck back bowed on him and could not get it to play. I guess someone in Chicago heated the neck and got it playing. That is not a usual case with necks. It does give me some concern though in evaluating them personally. I might add though the guitar retained a powerful acoustic sound much more than any Wes L5 would.

that is a beautiful guitar and sounds fantastic. loved how it handled the wes style chord soloing.
-
I was pleasantly surprised by that because i'm not a fan of the 175 or ibanez metheny for octaves or chording.
