I'm in the fanboy club!
My 16" blond Special is an unusually excellent instrument for which I feel eternally grateful. Mark hit it out of the ballpark when he made it. I own others, all great in their own way, but I believe that it's without peer.

Well yeah, and Andy's math is a little bit off (lol) - most sources list 1,164 as the total number of instruments built by D'Angelico - and most of his electrics had bodies made by United Guitar Corp. - but hey, still a LOT of guitars, and a number I won't reach!
