As the subject says, what is the correct case for a 1936 L-12?
I am have asked this before, but old age sometimes causes my memory to skip a few windings.

Are you looking for a vintage correct case or simply one that works? The vintage correct case will cost some serious money unless they are beat up. My thinking is that many were the lighter tweed color with stripes. My 38 L5 has this and to get a good one is going to cost money.

Thanks, Mark.
Mine is the lighter tweed with dark stripes which run across the guitar so I guess I am in vintage-correct territory.

This might help my L5's case.

There was a gibson black leather covered case that looked like it was from the 40s up on goodwill. It was in decent shape. It looked like a 00 size maybe. Its gone though. There is another gibson case on there, but I see where the L12 is 17". It says it 18 1/2" wide. I don't know. They want $40 shipping.

It likely either came with the striped airplane cloth case or possibly a black redline case. Cases could be purchased separately from the guitar at that time. Notice this page from a 1934 Gibson catalog. They gave two case options.
