In an effort not to hijack chris32895's Ephiphone Zephyr thread I'll post the pics of the inside of my guitar here. My phone fit right in the f hole. It's really a cool view into the guitar.

There appears to be a lot of dog hair by the jack inside. Or maybe that’s Mojo…

Someone needs to build a jazz club that looks like the inside of an archtop. That would look great with some purple velvet lounges and couches and a nice lit up bar behind it. Put the band back behind the bridge....

The yellow wire to white felt wire connection (with the soldered bare wire showing) looks tenuous. I think I'd want to wrap that for safety's sake.

I’ll get to it eventually. I want to do shielded wire or something eventually. If it’s not broke I’m not fixing it.

The interiors of violins are cleared of dust and debris by pouring in some uncooked rice and manipulating the violin so as to allow the rice to slide around gently, then poured out.
I guess that might not be so good for a guitar with electronics inside.

    And never use cooked rice.

I tried to shake it out and hit the headstock on the table... I should know to leave well enough alone.

Re: safety - there's no voltage to speak of. I agree that if the solder joint is good, don't fix what's not broken :-)

I paid extra for one of these. Adds to the vintage tone. (My Fasan).Inside the guitar-20241002_110956-jpg

I'll try this trick with salt peanuts, maybe it will improve my bebop playing...

Again with this shit? It's extremely racist to connect watermelons with African Americans. Stop it.

    Ever heard this one?

EDIT: In case you are referring to my avatar image -- a watermelon has the same colors as the Palestinian flag (the pan-Arab green, red, white and black) and is therefore used as a symbol for Palestine. How many African Americans or Africans are playing in your band again? Or to use a favorite saying from one of the singers of my ex-band, Victor Morgan from Benin City, Nigeria: "You don't know what time it is!"

In the 80ies your guitar could have been part of those Benson & Hedges ads.

The guitar has a reddish stain but I don't think that is a chip from it.

That spliced wire with yellow:white insulation looks like the ground wire to the tailpiece. It doesn't need to be insulated at all. As long as the solder joint is solid, it's fine. If it's actually something else (I can't really tell for sure, but I don't know what else it could be) then you might consider rewiring it, but for a ground wire it's fine as is.

Anyway, here's a (blurry) picture of a big ball of crap that was in my guitar when I bought it. The dark spots also weren't mold, it was actually more dust hanging in some cobwebs.

I see a repair on the top too.
