My first pro guitar, a '63 Jazzmaster I bought in 1967, was fun after a guy installed his "Moan-Tone" under the pickguard. Volume was drive, mini toggle switch to engage. Nice tone, but in days of Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa I needed distortion after a wah-wah, not before.
