I really like this idea: thin 335 style body but fully hollow like a 330 with mini-hums. Not a common configuration but I think really attractive in a lot of ways.

That looks like it could be my next search and find! I have a 335 with full size hums, Casino with P90's and a Riviera with semi hollow body and 3 P90's. What I'd really like is a lightweight (hollow) body with hums, and I really miss my '64 Riviera that was a semi hollow with mini-hums. Where to look?

The Peerless Renaissance is built like that. The one I have is very light and comfortable. I don't think they make them anymore but used ones come up occasionally for a pretty fair price.

There was one made briefly (ES-333 satin). I've never played one, but I heard a guy play one at a jam a couple of times. It sounds great. They're pretty rare, though, and cost quite a bit for a no-frills Gibson (asking prices are ~$2500). Originally Posted by omphalopsychos

All of those Ebay ones are actually the same guitar. The different ads are from people/firms willing to buy it for you (from the store selling it, at the price in their ads) then send it to you. Ebay allows that, and it's a PITA Originally Posted by Mick-7

I have one of these and absolutely love it. Exact same year and mini-hum config. I think I will play it tonight during my normal playing time after work. This one is on the pricey side. I paid a few hundred dollars less than half its price back in about 2018.

That's very cool! The Japanese builders/factory are putting out a lot of interesting guitars these days. I just picked up a Stringphonic L-5ish guitar w/ a CC pickup, a configuration I've always wanted to try out.

I've bought a bunch of used guitars from Ishibashi, and one or two from Kurasawa. Usually you pay the exchange rate, and shipping, which is usually somewhere between $200 and $250. Also, if you see something you really like on Reverb from a Japanese store, you usually save a good hunk of cash by getting it directly from the store's Japanese website.
Lastly, I've never had to pay Customs fees on any of the dozen or so guitars I've purchased from Japan. Probably just luck, but there it is.

An ES-330 with humbuckers or mini-hums sounds great. Gibson did a few here and there, and did the Gibson Memphis 2019 Limited MOD Series. It's possible to surmount their tendency to be feedback machines, as demonstrated by this guy on a weekly basis with his somewhat modified beater. One of these days...
