Can anyone tell me what the BS means on this Epiphone? Thank you. And while I am here, these MIJ 80's Emperors are laminate tops, not solid?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it stands for "brown sunburst". Without the benefit of photos of the outside, it's just a guess.
-
Yes, that is it. Thank you. Others on the web have been listed as such, and Id assumed they went by Tobacco Burst.

Let's correct that....

You still win the prize for the most moronic, pointless, and useless replies on the forum, over and over, the JF's very own fickle factotum. Instead of viewing everything as a scam, as fraudulent and suspect, how about you do some homework on this one and look at other MIJ 80's labels. Do you see a SN there?

I have an MIJ Emperor, a blonde one. Serial number is on the back of the headstock not on the label. I can't remember exactly what mine says on the label, I know it refers to the blonde finish, but BS would certainly refer to the sunburst.

Thanks for that. Do you know if these are laminate tops or solid?

Well, maybe part of the problem there is that banter often doesn't go over well in textbased communication. There's no nod, wink, smile or other nonverbal cues.

It's less an issue, Mick, of a sense of humor than an ability to suffer fools gladly, which I don't do well at. And if could be sure that you're not actually a cat, I might come around. Chuckle, chuckle. There's some humor for you.
Same rule applies for you here, more than anyone else: When you know nothing, say nothing.

Happy now?

The attitude conveyed in your words also is off-putting, at least to me. I tend to avoid threads where you are posting a lot, because I just don't want to put up with the static and noise, and yes, poorly executed humor.

Wow, talk about taking yourself waaaaay too seriously. There's a couple of people that I can see I need to avoid. People that use the phrase suffering fools have an overly developed sense of superiority that is generally false.
I am pretty new here and don't really know any of you, but this thread is making me wonder if I made a mistake in choice of forums.
-
Yes, you probably did. The Jungian psycho theory pages are on Quora or Reddit, This particular thread column and my OP was started in order to get information on a MIJ Emperor, which you clearly are not offering.

If you had followed that advice you would not have started this thread: initials after the model name on a label are commonly used to designate the color of the guitars finish.
