I have had mixed experiences with different people at Kiesel. Not so thrilled with a couple of them for sure! But a couple of them are really good as well. I would imagine a lot of this is due to Jeff a Kiesel being somewhat arrogant himself.
I could see where customers demands could be problematic at times. Probably wanting to make changes to existing orders. But that’s what salespeople are for.
Im actually very happy with my current Carvin and Kiesel HH2 Alan Holdsworth guitars.

I think it’s all because of Jeff. I don’t know how many of the staff from 20+ years ago are still there. The people I met when I picked up my guitar there were wonderful. Every one was in love with the guitar, the company’s values, and music. Sadly, no one I talked to by phone in the last 10+ years seemed to give a damn about me, customer relations, or common courtesy.

Well they still do good work on the instruments. Just need to talk with people who actually care about the business still.

They refused to do any work at all on custom guitars I bought new from them years before. In about 2010, they wouldn’t even help me identify the pickups on my ‘94 and explain how their newer pickups differed.

Well I bought a new Zeus 7 string and have ordered several sts of pickups without any issues. Have never tried to have them work on any of my Holdsworth Headless models.
Sorry it’s turned out badly for you, I’ve been there as well.

Ordering from their website is very easy. But helpful personal interaction is a different matter, as is long term support like fret maintenance, finish repairs, electronics upgrades etc.

The New Ones! Although I have read stories of unhappy customers as well. While I always prefer to support nicer people and the little guy. I’ve had mixed results with that over the years.
I sold my Dumble OD Special in protest over how he treated a friend of mine, who’d had one on order and never delivered it after taking his $$$.
I also have had great experiences with Peter Biltoft (Vintage Vibe Pickups) Kent Armstrong pickup builder, and a few others as well.
The Holdsworth guitars are working great for me at this point, so I’m going with them. I have a slight preference for the Carvin version. Probably due to the specs ordered with it originally.
There are way too many good choices available nowadays, so just do what works for you.

I recently wrote to Carvin about my WG5 wireless system that suddenly died. After 3 days they replied and offered me a sale price of $99 + $13 shipping for a new one. (orig $129) I told them thanks, but no thanks, there are plenty of other brands available. Below is the email they sent me.
