The p/ups look like my Shaws from a '81 L5CES. Looks like someone already monkeyed the covers off to check if they are Shaws!
My Shaws came out of the guitar because I couldn't get a tone that I liked, yeah right!! from an L5 ??? Too much lower mids and a dull voice.
Seth Lovers and new pots woke that guitar up, and now there are spades of useable tones.
Enjoy that beautiful ES 175.

I absolutely love Shaws in solid body guitars, but am not thrilled with them in archtops, but I also don’t like Seth Lovers in anything. I generally don’t hear it mentioned much, but I think T-tops are fantastic in archtops.

I actually have one of those lying around here that I was thinking about using, how would you characterize the sound?

What I can speak to is that this pickup sounds really good with Thomastik-Infeld JS113 Jazz Swing flatwound strings. And even with the 25 1/2 scale, the .013's feel quite comfortable. Possibly due to the reduced tension TI string design. Like the sound of T Tops in my Les Paul. Like 57 Classics in most everything else. But this pickup and string combination seem perfect in this guitar.

I agree with SS. The T-tops tend to have nice note separation and they have an airy top end that’s not found in every pickup.
