Trying to find nylon thumb picks. Done a web search nothing comes up. Plenty of other choices of materials for thumb picks. If you know of a maker who makes nylon thumb picks do get in touch.

Why nylon?---nylon gets the least 'scratch'enes' then other materials of thumb pick noise on the string.

    Many thanks.

    Hey swingtone,
    Consider the "strum-n-comfort" system.

Here's Ronnie Eschete doing his thing:

If you have not tried the Fred Kelly Slick Pick, I would recommend trying that one. It is the quietest thumbpick I have ever found in terms of surface noise. Very nice smooth release.

Thanks for posting that link. That crossover pick holder deal is really interesting.

Second that, I only have my doubts about the thickness of the additional layer it puts between your thumb and finger, esp. with a fat pick of your own. I have the impression it'll be more appropriate for hybrid picking than for fingerpicking with a thumb pick.

I have one of the Fred Kelly picks (the yellow one). It may not have been scratchy in the beginning but the edges got ragged quite quickly and it always gave a plasticky sound. Plus it puts the pick at an awkward position

I discovered the Butterfly fingerpicks too late to order a few so had to follow the DIY instructions. Maybe that's why mine don't stay put, but the sound is very natural as is the playing position.

Brian, did you try the Alaska finger picks?

+1 for Fred Kelly - used them for many years - I play a lot of Chet/Merle stuff and have not found anything better.
