Curious if anybody can confirm whether Grasso has a current deal with a record label? It has been over two years since his last album with Sony Masterworks under his name. I know he is no longer managed by Matt Pierson so I wonder if Grasso's recording options have been compromised with that loss?

All I know is that PG seems to play either Mezzrow's or Small's in NYC at least once a week-so I doubt if he is doing much touring.

Thanks, David. I'm listening to it now. Great stuff. No wonder she won the Grammy for Best New Artist.

I saw him last night in Seattle with Frank Vignola. OMG. A very special gig to be sure. If you haven't ever seen him in person, you must. Total command of the instrument. Frank wasn't too shabby either. Frank said he plays with Pasquale every other Wed night at Birdland. Check them out!

Pasquale Grasso just announced on social media a nice surprise for a rainy Friday - he has a new album, 'Fervency', and it's out today!
It's a trio recording on Masterworks. Recorded three years ago with Ari Roland on bass and Keith Balla on drums.
No word on a physical release, but its on streaming services and available for HD digital purchase from several sites.

Definitely worthy going to see Mr. Grasso play if you have the chance. Saw him a couple weeks ago in the small room at the SF Jazz Center. He covered several C. Parker tunes, including Buzzy, among other stuff. A monster player, for sure.

One rarely gets to hear Pasquale Grasso playing alongside a pianist, so this duo set with Spike Wilner at Mezzrow on Monday is a real treat.
-
Wow, what a cool humble guy.
