Willie is in his own lane! (Though he's playing seated nowadays.) I like to hear him play. His "Let's Face the Music and Dance" album (with sister Bobbie on piano) is a favorite, as well as the first album he mad with Asleep at the Wheel, and the live album from '78 (which was my introduction to him).

Thanks for that!

Loved trios without drums, for that matter. Oscar Peterson and Monty Alexander are favorites. Wynton Kelly cut some great sides with Paul Chambers on bass and Kenny Burrell on guitar. And it's the Wynton Kelly trio backing Wes on "Smokin' at the Half Note." Sure, that album has drums, but the interplay of piano, bass, and guitar is "as good as it gets."

I was more interested in a guitarist playing classical music.Singers with classical guitars are not new to me.
