Two paper cuts right where it matters. Playing just opens up the cuts again.

I could not play for a week, obviously. But maybe someone here has a hack? Removable fingertip products? Small Gorilla bandaids?

Sudocrem is an amazing healer. Best used at night without covering. (That's if you sleep at night!)

My dermatologist told me that glue does not interfere with healing.

What does interfere, I think, is putting pressure on the wound in the direction of re-opening it.

Maybe glue would stabilize it sufficiently. But if it didn't, you'd be extending the healing time.

One thing that might be relevant, is that once the glue dries you can sand it to shape.

I usually splint/tape/immobilize right away to give a cut the best chance to heal.

I use these all the time, but I believe the manufacturer may no longer be making them.

You could try Musician Practice Gloves as sold on Sweetwater.I know someone that has cuts on his fingers from his job and he uses these gloves and says they work pretty well once you get used to them.

Sometimes the skin falls off my fingers due to an old chemical exposure. I use Gorilla Tips to at least practice. They don't slide that well but at least I can play. I think I got them at GC

Been there. super glue works best. clean it, one thin layer and let it dry. feels weird for 5 minutes then you’re good to play.
