George Van Eps (Archtop), Joe Pass (ES175), Ed Bickert (Telecaster), Lenny Breau, John Stowell (Boutique) … they all sound good to me among many others. It’s a rabbit hole, isn’t it ?
You can finds video on line with John Stowell playing a white CS Telecaster, an ES175 and an ES335 and sounding crazy good.
Tim Lerch is fantastic if you are obsessed with pickups. He sounds good even with a cheap Epiphone 335.
