Mike Walker - 'Madhouse and The Whole Thing There'

Mike Walker has played and recorded with George Russell, Peter Erskine, Steve Swallow, Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor and performed with Dave Holland, Tal Farlow, Vince Mendoza, Anthony Braxton, Bill Frisell and many others. An unassuming yet ubiquitous player (and ubiquitous for a reason.) I think Mike warrants consideration for this list.

I personally like "Solo Flight," with Charlie Christian and Benny Carter. I like "King of the Delta Blues Singers" by Robert Johnson, and anything by Wes Montgomery or Nick Cassarino. I don't really understand this whole Pat Metheny craze though. I've listened to some and it seems kind of muzaky, if that's a word. Maybe I've been listening to the wrong stuff.
I also like Moonlight in Vermont by Johnny Smith.

I know I should have commented before now so it is my own fault that he is not listed as the greatest of jazz guitarists but where is Tal Farlow? His "Tal Farlow's Finest Hour" is THE best jazz guitar album I have ever heard. I see one of his other albums listed but Tal did not make the top ten list. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

I just joined today so sorry for the tardy opinion. Nice list, I'm glad Scofield made the list..but, "en Route" should be there instead of the other two, especially "AGoGo", (unless this is determined by sales). "Hand Jive"is worthy, cool. Where's "En Route"? That is one the greatest guitar trio live recordings ever! IMO Think about it people!!
LOL! I just had to put in my cents.
    Thanks
    Sam
