I have this 1960 Gretsch 6124 Anniversary with trestle bracing for sale; probably one of the last before they went to parallel bracing. The guitar has had a recent and expertly done neck reset, and was refretted about two years ago with medium sized frets. (original frets included) The cost of the neck reset and refret was about $1000 USD, so represents a substantial value added. The guitar has no binding rot and everything is solid and stable; good for another 65 years. I have all of the original parts and these will be included. Currently, it has the following easily reversible mods:
-hand-carved flush-fit African blackwood full contact bridge base with Shaller tune-0-matic style bridge, and I will include a matching African blackwood saddle intonated for a plain 3rd string (original Space Control bridge with its base is included)
-tone switch replaced with a tone pot, but shaft was threaded to accept the original switch tip so it still looks like the switch but acts as a tone pot (original tone switch with capacitors included)
-volume pot replaced (original included)
To the absolute best of my knowledge, everything else is original except one small piece of binding replaced at the base of the neck during the reset. Perhaps it could be stained with a teabag to match the rest of the binding. A couple of the original Waverly tuners have a bit of slop, but work fine, turn smoothly, and hold the tuning perfectly. Most importantly it has the original Patent Applied For Filter'tron pickup. The case is original, is in very good functional condition (latches all work), and it even has the key for the locking latch. The finish is overall in very good condition with no checking, but does have a few small dings. I've used it as a jazz guitar and played it on many gigs. It always sounded great with a warm but very clear voice.
I'll accept payment through Wise or PayPal, or if it is within Canada, bank e-transfer. Make sure we have our info correct before making payment. I am in Toronto and will ship with Canada Post/USPS, so there will be no brokerage fee. I'll ask for $100 USD for shipping to the USA or Canada and cover the extra. Shipping to Europe will be a bit more and I'll work with buyer on that. Alternatively, we can meet in the Niagara region on the Canadian side. There is a US customs form I will use so there will be no duties as it is an older USA made product being repatriated. European buyers will be responsible for all taxes and import duties. It will be packed in its case with padding, and inside a proper guitar box with additional padding. Feel free to ask questions and thanks for looking.
