Here's Phidelity #1574 - a 16" handmade x-braced acoustic archtop from one of North America's premier luthiers, Erich Solomon. Fantastic acoustic sound, and great electric sound via the installed Bartolini floating pickup. Erich's Phidelity model is his benchmark design, based on his application of the Fibonacci Series of numbers to acoustic archtop guitar design.
$5500.
The guitar has a sound port on the upper bass bout, giving the player lots of direct sound. It was ordered with custom curly walnut rims and back. It is a superb instrument in all respects. It has a tiny amount of fretwear, and some small scratches from use. However, because the finish is shellac, any competent violin shop can make it look brand new with some French Polishing. Erich offers the same service. That's the beauty of fine shellac finishes. They also smell really good.
