Gibson Barney Kessel Regular Cherry Sunburst 1968 | Montreal Guitar

I'm interested and I actually played it before the refret, but, my live-in banker hates the look and the price. It's a sweet easy playing instrument, offered at $8500 Cdn + taxes.

Bear in mind that this guitar probably has the 1 9/16 nut that Gibson was using in this era. I would also be suspicious of the pickups being all original, though I suppose it is possible. But different plating on the two pickups from the factory? I have never heard of that.
Wintermoon, TRM, Danny W.: what say you guys?

Works out to around 6k US, a bit on the high side for a '68 Regular Barney but not outrageous these days.

Check on the nut width, less desirable to most but some don't mind/prefer narrower, those are the ones that get all the great narrow nut guitars for less $

I would expect double chrome on that guitar. I’m not sure what’s going on there.
