Ummmm.....a funny thing happened on the way to lunch.

I've often expressed my interest here in the Fuchs ODH since it first came out. Jim777 messaged me yesterday that he spotted a used one for sale at a GC about 50 minutes from me. Oddly enough, I had a little free time today and felt like taking a relaxing drive. Somehow, I found myself at that very GC, with one of my guitars in the trunk. So I went in to see how it sounded with my own guitar, purely for education. I learned a lot!

The Fuchs ODH may be the coolest amplifier in history! It's unabashedly designed to do the Dumble thing, and it's spectacular. I'll save the details for a NAD post. But after checking it out thoroughly for about an hour, it looked at me with its little homeless-puppy-at-the-shelter eyes and it followed me home. Even better, Mom let me keep it!!

So the answer to your question is fewer than I had 3 months ago, but probably more than I really need. I followed the one in - one out rule to the letter (and more). In the last few months, I've sold the Twin, the Princeton, and the OD202. Before that, I sold the SBUS, the Little Jazz, both Microblocks, the Boogie Mk 0 1x12 and its Thiele extension cab (both EVMs), the Vibrolux, the Phil Jones Cub and Briefcase, the SWR Baby Baby Blue, both G-K MB150s, the Genz Benz, and a few others I can't remember right now. That trimmed the collection enough to fit in the condo to which we downsized.

    My current collection includes

    Blu 6
    DVM EG250
    Fuchs ODH
    TC BAM200
    TC BQ500
    Quilter Tone Block 202
    RE Bass 10
    RevSound RS8
    Quilter BlockDock 12HD
    QuIlter BlockDock 10TC
    Toob Metro BG+
    Toob FRFR II

Assuming the ODH proves as great on gigs as I think it will, I'll be selling the BlockDock 12 and replacing it with a lightweight Mojotone 1x12 cab into which I'll drop a great speaker with high power handling capacity. And that will hopefully complete the ensemble. I probably don't need the ToneBlock and 10" cab either, so that combo may also go. It's a great one piece grab 'n go, but so is a lunch bag with the BAM and either a Toob or the RevSound.
