Aside from the bridge and how it’s installed into the top. How is this guitar different in spec to a Gibson ES-175? Depth?

Great laminate archtop. Not found of the pinned bridge. Perhaps there’s a reason they did that.

Yes, it is definitely thinner than a 175.

What else are the spec differences? Thanks!

Well the bridge or course, the Venetian vs. Florentine cutaway. One pickup vs. dual pickups, 2 3/4" body depth vs. 3 1/4" and then some aesthetic things.

But why does it have Kenny Burrell's name on it? Did he ever play a guitar like this "Groove Master" or is it a marketing ploy?

AFAIK it was indeed a "marketing ploy". He designed a few models for Heritage the more expensive Super and the affordable Groove Master (I think he named it that?) He played the larger Super .

I believe he played the Super Eagle model, yeah. I'm sure that Heritage was jut capitalizing on his name with the Groove Master but it's a cool guitar nonetheless and Kenny is my all-time favorite guitar player so I had to see what it was all about. Ultimately I just prefer the ES-175, but i'll continue to enjoy the KB until it goes to a new home.

The Heritage Groove Master model was designed by Jay Wolfe (owner of Wolfe Guitars, FL), along with input from Kenny Burrell.

    2004 Heritage ad copy:

Here's a quote from Jay Wolfe's Facebook page:

"It was a wonderful experience initiating this model and designing it with Kenny. I still have the 1'st one made, along with the 1st Heritage model H516 which is the model we based the Groove Master on. I am so proud that they sound & play great..."

Below is an old Down Beat article by Keith Baumann discussing this downsized archtop...

I love that they use the CME photo backdrop too!

seriously though, the AI generated two pickup image looks great! lol

Back in the early days of Heritage Guitars, they'd build darn near any configuration/customization of their core designs. So yes, there were a few two-pickup KB Groove Master produced.

@Retro Sound: Good luck with your sale!

Here's an image of a two pickup Groove Master that was sold by Chicago Music Exchange:

How is that legal? They list a California address with no phone number. China no doubt.

Definitely not legal, I suspect the game plan is to rip off as many people as they can before the law catches up with them. It's most likely an identity theft scheme, they just want your personal information to rob you or sell it on the black market.
