Forgot about this for awhile - amazing what one finds while vacuuming behind the couch. It's a new Höfner Leader Contemporary (CT) Model. The CT Series instruments are made in China, get sent to Germany, where they are set up, and are then sent to distributors and retailers.
North America gets the CT basses, but very few, if any, of the guitars. This one came direct from NAMM. It's a li'l mini-archtop semi. Perfect for playing some li'l mini-jazz! Only two or three of these ever made it to North America, along with a couple of German-made Leader models, and I grabbed this one and a couple of German-made ones.
Electronics include a humbucker-sized P-90 in the neck position, a humbucker in the bridge position, a three-way switch and a single volume knob.
It has a mahogany block, rosewood board, really pretty flamed maple body, and a @24 3/4" scale. Comes with a Höfner gig bag. Currently strung w/a set of roundwounds, but I'd be happy to install flatwounds if that's your preference.
It's a surprisingly nice guitar - I took it out to a gig to see how it behaves and it sounds great!
All that for a mere $895 plus shipping! Ships to the US from the US, to Canada and the rest of the world from Canada.Last edited by Hammertone; 09-16-2025 at 05:15 AM.

Given the shenanigans over at Höfner these days, I suspect that the likelihood of any more of these guitars being made is slim-to-none. One of you should buy this one!
