For sale is a very beloved Fender Princeton Reverb. It is a vintage, It is a 1974 model.
$900.00
When I bought it ,used, it was “blackfaced” and modified to a certain degree,
and then I had it modified back closer to stock specifications.
The mods that still exist include: upgraded Eminence speaker, new and improved reverb tank, JJ tubes, Mid control pot added to the rear panel, Reverb Dwell pot added to the rear panel, upgraded Power and Output transformers, padded cover included. Footswitch jacks have been removed.
When purchased 20 years ago, this amp was re-configured for 6L6 Power tubes, and a 12 inch speaker. I have another PR amp so I wanted this one to be restored to stock configuration with 6V6 power tubes. The results yield a very giggle amp with power and character. It is a little ball buster in a small package! Built-in Tremolo and Reverb effects are sublime. The cabinet is plywood.
New transformers and re-biasing plus tune-ups were performed by Andy Fuchs in Clifton NJ.
one of the best amp builders and repair technicians in the country.
If you know these amps from the early 70’s they are fantastic and in demand. It is a great studio, or smaller gig amp. I have used it at many a jam session for hours of playing - with drummers, and it can be TOO loud!!! It will keep up - with a great tone and voice. To those who might ask: headroom for jazz is subjective! (Easy to swap speakers)
Because the amp has been modded (and improved) I am only asking a percentage of what the unmodded 1970 PR’s sell for.
Not interested in trades, or shipping. Local sales only in NYC - try and buy. Cash only.

The speaker now sitting in it is a 10 inch, Eminence. It is the equivalent of their Legend 1078 (ceramic mag) spkr.

Excellent deal for a player!

This is what "jazz amp" means to me. Good deal on an increasingly rare gem.

Very nice! And memorable for me, a BF Princeton was my main amp in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
That’d fetch a pretty penny here in Japan! A lucky NYCer’ll get it.

I`m in NYC ...how do we hook up?

So I have been playing this amp, cleaning it up, and ordered new reverb cords to replace the old and weak ones.
It's such a great sounding amp, Andy Fuchs called it a "a fire breathing beast" with "a nice healthy amount of clean headroom. " Makes me hate to sell it, but here are some more photos.

Very cool Princeton Reverb, especially if Fuchs did his magic on it. Best of luck with your sale.

Sold. And though I hate to part with equipment I am fond of (love) it's rewarding to get some cash but more heartfelt is the joy you get when you match up the right artist with the right gear.
Perfect match today! The guitar player knew what he wanted, knew the sound he was after, and he got it within 5 minutes or less and was gone in 10 . And the amp is perfect for his guitar, style, and material.
A good experience all around, and good on Craigslist.
A very special NGD: a custom build that brought my ideas to life.
