I got this for a gig I was doing, but i just can't justify holding onto it any longer. The back wood grain is what sold me on this guitar. There are some dings, and a few scrapes but nothing structurally wrong at all. Its a very acoustically loud and punchy instrument. I got it specifically for the 1/4 note. I know the purists will say "why put a pickup on it". I needed to for the gig. The pickup sounds better than a rhythm chief. Its very vintage but not sure what the year is. The specs are from the website. Comes with original Eastman case. Im asking 1,500 plus shipping. I was hoping not to lose too much on it. All and all a great guitar, with a chunky neck. It did take me about a day getting used to it. Glad I tried it but now its time to find a new home. Hope it goes to someone that will use it to its potential. Send me a message with any questions. Thanks.

The 700 is a fabulous guitar.
It's a shame the backs are at the back!!

You know i've often thought that same thing. The backs are the best looking for the most part and its all hidden by my large boiler.

There’s a recent thread on that FHC-C pickup, and another member speaks about a technician who rebuilds them.

That's good to know. It was interesting to read that each one sounds a bit different. Im not sure of the science but this particular pickup sounded much fuller and even than the gold rhythm chief I started with. Im actually on a recent pickup hunt. Each time I switch I feel like im gaing one thing while losing another. It's tough to find something I am completely satisfied with but I suppose that is the nature of the search.

    Thanks for sharing
