I also think that there MAY be some in the boat I'm in, which is that I'd buy the TF if some of the other guitars I had listed would sell.

Later today, I am helping a student prepare for an audition for a state high school music competition. He is trying for a spot in the jazz combo. I’ve lent him my Broadway and he’s getting a great sound from it.
Anyway, I got out the Tal Farlow to work out a few licks to suggest he use or adapt for the improv portion of his audition. I must say, this Tal never disappoints. With regular breaks to take care of my hands, I’m doing pretty well today. I even think I’ll be able to keep the Tal out for the coaching session later. So inspiring! Just a gush post.
Happy Thursday, all!

I stopped sampling and then reselling in late 2016 because I observed archtop’s at good selling prices sitting for 45 days or more for a sell. Just 2 years earlier I’d post then sell an archtop within 2 weeks. I always priced archtop’s attractively, rather than for advertising purposes only. I may have been a year early but archtop’s have become much harder to sell, unless it’s an inexpensive guitar, and even then there’s no guarantee of finding a buyer. I’m tempted to acquire another 18” archtop that I’ve seen advertised, but I must understand that I’ll likely to be stuck with it, but that’s okay too.

Thanks for your feedback and commentary. You sure are a great bunch of people!
Have a great weekend, all!

My financial advisor recently sent me an analysis by Ameriprise comparing the performance of the stock market and the economy under Republican versus Democratic presidents. Despite the widespread belief that the Republicans are better with the economy, in fact, both the stock market and the broader economy have routinely done better under Democratic administration than Republican administrations. Stock prices were better, GDP was better and unemployment was better under Democrats then Republicans. With the exception of two administrations (Nixon and I'm not remembering who the other one was, both of which suffered losses in GDP, the stock market and employment), all of those indicators have improved under every administration- but the numbers have been better under Democrats. FWIW. My own investments did better under Clinton, Obama and Biden than under George W. Bush or Trump and throughout my working life, I have noted that my own personal economic picture is routinely better with Democratic presidents than with Republican presidents.

Really great question. I’m very grateful that I have the option to keep and enjoy my guitars without financial worry. My heart goes out to those struggling to make ends meet these days—perhaps their options are fewer. I’m going to gratefully play my TF and L4 this afternoon.
