On a very superficial note, I’m wondering what pickup does his Trenier sport nowadays. It’s a JS floater, but what exactly? I really like the tone he gets (of course, it kind of helps it’s Pasquale Grasso). I’m sorry if this has already been discussed...

Pasquale‘s ‘Glass Enclosure’ recording was the first tune that I transcribed during the first weeks of lockdown earlier this year. What a great arrangement ! It‘s interesting to compare it to the video version re: different harmonic variations.

I never get tired of that song. Hoagy was a great talent, as are these musicians. I haven't hears Samara Joy, and that's my loss. I keep finding astonishing talent on YouTube.

Recorded on Friday 20 November. The set starts at the 32:30 mark.
Samara Joy won the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Her forthcoming album was produced by Matt Pierson (who has produced Pasquale's series of solo EPs) and features Pasquale, Ari Roland and Kenny Washington.

An original composition from Pasquale, 'White Nights'.

Rossano Sportiello posted this on his YT channel: "The joy of getting together and play jazz informally and without anything specifically planned."

This feels so strange to my ears : the sound of the guitar and his playing evokes Johnny Smith/Billy Bauer/Jimmy Rainey, sometime in the early 50's but the crisp drums and the well defined bass sound absolutely "today" ....
