This popped up on YouTube today. There is something nice in this guitar, organ, drums trios.

There are many classic organ/guitar/drum trios and it is a format I particularly enjoy listening to. I've never had a chance to play in that format, unfortunately. The trio with Bernstein, Goldings and Stewart is a very good one; I think they've been playing together now for more than 30 years. I've gotten to see them twice and thoroughly dug both times. Bill Stewart might be my favorite drummer in jazz and Pete is my current favorite guitarist. The three of them together have an excellent synergy.
I'd also recommend the Dr. Lonnie Smith recordings particularly with Jonathan Kreisberg on guitar. Pat Martino's first album, El Hombre, is really great. Jimmy Smith, of course- he basically invented the organ trio.
