Funny! In my old neighborhood in Chicago, guitars were king. However, I doubled on guitar/sax(tenor/alto) but it was the sax that got me the most gigs. What a difference a day makes!

I grew up in Dayton OH in the 60s and the 70s. My neighborhood and my high school were in the epicenter of Dayton Funk. I walked by Roger Troutman's studio a whole lot, and Satch from the Ohio Players lived across from my high school. Me and my high school band buddies used to mess around a lot with pickup groups and things like that back then. In fact one of those buddies now runs the Funk Music Hall of Fame in Dayton, David Webb!
