Pilvet karkaa - niin minäkin is Finnish popular song from 1973 orginally performed by singer Rauli "Badding" Somerjoki. It was also featured in Aki Kaurismäki's movie Kauas pilvet karkaavat in 1996.
Here's my hybrid picking/fingerstyle version of it.
Cheers, Mikko

Catchy tune, pity we can't hear that other voice in your head that you seem to be waiting for in several places

Is that still the Cort guitar?
-
Thank you! Yeah it's Cort. I got little lost about voice in my head... what did you mean?

There are a couple of breaks that, at least the 1st time I listened, felt as if they were places where someone else would be playing the melody.

Thanks so much for this. The U.S. based streaming service The Criterion Channel featured several Kaurismäki films awhile back (including 'Drifting Clouds' as this film is titled in English) and was completely blown away. Sadly must confess that cultural context understanding of the music and settings escapes me, so great to hear this song on its own wonderfully realized.

Thank you very much! I'm happy that you have found Aki's movies. They took some time for me to get into because the dialogy is so "stiff". But they are really different and nice movies whrn you start to watch them and understand the concept.

Interesting you should say that. That's what I tried to explain by cultural context: the dialog is sometimes awkward but can't fully appreciate nuance how deliberate that is. Similarly the music often sounds, let's say "cheesy" or "overly sentimental" but again, I don't really understand the meaning behind the choice of songs or the music itself which is why your rendition was fascinating. Cheers!

(Don't get me wrong, I have a very fond memory of a former colleague of my dad's who seemed able to hold an everyday conversation with just "hoo, huumm, yaaaah" that seemed to come out of his toes
