While we’re waiting, I played an Epiphone Century 1966 the other day and really liked it, need a cheap and cheerful box for the old aeroplanes and their smashing guitar antics. The only problem is it comes with a signed picture of James may.
Oh sorry James Bay.
He’s an attractive man, but I don’t really want a signed picture of him. What’s the correct protocol? Is there an address you can send it to? Do you take it out of the case and slam it pointedly down on the counter as you leave.
Problem is that makes you look like you care yo see.
They get you either way.

I've been playing drums along to bebop recordings and I think the key to swing is to know where the top of the beat is. Play upbeats always.
A bandleader I worked with a while ago did a workshop with Dexter Gordon and the inevitable question was posed, "how do you stay so far behind the beat"?
Long Tall replied "I have no idea what you are talking about".

Funny how someone can have the time to post long, effusive imagistic, metaphor laden agendas for how to learn to swing, but doesn't have time to pull any one of what must be dozens of clips illustrating solid swing feel on a jazz tune. I mean, who hasn't got time to post a YouTube link. Someone who gives tons of advice and long lists of steps and procedures to follow surely already has a wealth of material they could share.
I mean, Mr. Miller drunk can still put up a solid clip in a matter of minutes, better stuff than I can do sober, and sadly, I'm ALWAYS sober.
Which reminds me of the exchange between Churchill and Lady Astor:
Astor: Mr Churchill, you are drunk!
Churchill: Yes I am. And you are UGLY. But tomorrow, I shall be sober...
