this is a fair comment but I guess I’m asking for personal recommendations by people who have been listening to Jazz for longer than me!

I mentioned this in another thread not too long ago, but I don't actually like the blues...so any tune I'd recommend is because I enjoy the playing in spite of it being a blues tune.

With that in mind, here's the tune I also recommended in that recent thread, Pat Martino playing "The Visit"
