Brecker/Holdsworth/Tim Miller Legato Melodic Minor Hexatonic Sequence over Db7Alt

Thanks to Kerry Maxwell for reminding me about this.

This is a 2 finger per string melodic minor hexatonic scale. I'm omitting the 4th to create the notes,
1, 2, b3, 5, 6 M7. This sounds great over Db7Alt or FMaj7#5 or Dmin7. This is a sound that Allan Holdsworth
and Micheal Brecker use quite a bit.

One advantage of using this as opposed to the full melodic minor scale is my theory of reduction. Reducing the full
scale to that which are the "juice" notes, has a more open sound and has the effect of intensifying the harmonic
content of the alterations.

The 2nd advantage is that you can finger these patterns with 2 notes per string like a pentatonic scale so the left
and right hand coordination is familiar to most guitarists, as are the various patterns.

This is the sequenced version which you will recognize if you listen to any Michael Brecker/Allan Holdsworth. As
usual, we turn it into forward motion by starting on the & of 4.
