Thanks, that is super interesting. I was dismissive when in fact I do respect "audio science" a lot. For me the interest started with frustrations and questions concerning audio equipment (amp, speakers and (now digital) source) - questions like how do you, actually, get good sound; what factors are involved; are there objective criteria for good sound? I greatly appreciate the work done initially by the likes of Sean Olive on listener preferences for instance. It all made a huge difference in my music listening experience. Come to think of it all that was done especially post-WWII in audio and recording really looks like it must have been an incredible odyssey.
