I have been fascinated for years by the guitars of Cordoba guitarerro Graciliano Perez. Due to the their use by high profile flamenco guitarists like Paco Serrano and Vicente Amigo, Graciliano’s guitars have gotten a great reputation for their tone and playability. I can now attest that both are as good as it gets.
This one is on loan to me from Fareed Haque. I’m posting it as a NGD because Fareed is not getting it back! In turn, he is awaiting two more from Graciliano’s shop.
Playing this guitar is effortless. The action is about 1.5 mm at the first fret and 3 mm at the 12th fret. These astoundingly low settings produce the right amount of flamenco rasp, yet it plays clean and easy. Graciliano was a protege of Miguel Rodriguez and eventually bought the whole stock of wood from the Rodriguez family. This guitar is made from some of that wood, its design and materials reflect the legacy of Miguel Rodriguez in its tone, articulation, and power. An amazing guitar! It’s a great compliment to my Jose Gonzalez Lopez negra and my Mijail Kharash blanca.

Looks like a treasure, considering what it's been put through. Flamenco and jazz 180 degrees apart? Nope. Xavier Sanchez Perez, a Spanish bassist/teacher/doctoral student/Toob endorser living in Finland, leads a band called Cuejero, which combines both genres in a tasteful way.

Beautiful guitar.
Congratulations. Surely looks like a wonderful guitar!

Such beautiful spruce and rosette.

The top is among the most silky that I have ever seen. Graciliano only uses wood that has aged for 20 years of more.
