I’ve wanted a Borys guitar ever since the Emily Remler videos, this one is extra special as it used to belong to Mike Walker who taught me at college, he’s a monster player here in the UK I’m sure you all know him

That's a great story. These guitars are tried, true and proven professional grade instruments. One of the few remaining links to the pantheon of the greatest builders of all time. Your guitar is flat out BEAUTIFUL!
Enjoy and thanks for the pics and the really nice story. No matter how good a player gets, that player will never surpass this instruments capabilities.

This is a NGD I can really get behind! My Borys have been transformational for me. Wishing you the best on a top level instrument.

Very distinctive F holes. I wonder why Roger Borys abandoned those on his more recent offerings? May she inspire your playing for many years to come!
-
maybe because it's extra unnecessary work

He did get it back then over it on.

He added detail to the headstock. Probably an easier area to work on. I do like the original f holes though.

Gorgeous earlier Bory’s and thanks for posting - I love the old F holes. I have several Bory’s and find myself gravitating to them all the time. The playability and tone is superb for a laminate.
Wishing you many years of enjoyment.

55 Bar, well done on your new axe. I'm very jealous!
I hadn't heard of Mike Walker. I'll have to check him out.

Congrats on the fantastic instrument!
[Mike's "Impossible Gentlemen" albums with Steve Swallow are wonderful! Great player!]

Documentary from Vermont Public:

Congratulations on the find 55! I looked for a pre-owned one for over a year and then decided I might do better on the wait list! I hope you dig it like I dig mine.

Nice story and nice catch!
Very much enjoy my B160- very similar guitar with a 25" scale length. They sound great through an amp, very different from the other guitars in my stable.
Enjoy and make some great music!

Just a quick blast before work.
