Soul Funk Fusion Jam - Performed on a Yamaha SA2200, going through a King Tone soloist and Gladio Sc pedal and into the helix (grammatico amp model), grammatico EV12L speaker)

My funk/fusion playing is a little rusty but trying to get these chops back together. Special thanks to Paul Sobus who encouraged me to get my rock/blues playing back together. Love you Bro!

The strings are pretty heavy for rock. They are .012 .016 .021 .030 .040 .050 but I love them because they are really fat sounding and sound good for jazz, blues or rock. However, need to build my finger callouses and strength back up.

Regarding surgery recovery, Today is day 23. feeling better every day. Tape came off of the incision yesterday. Outside will be totally healed. Pain levels pretty low. Still having some muscle pain, cramping but trying to minimize pain killers at this point.

The track sounds like Eddie Harris' "Cold Duck Time".

    Well done, Jack.

Wow Jack......You are such a chameleon. I'm not really sure what the Jack Zucker sound is, but this blues sounds great.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for listening and commenting. I don't know what the jack zucker sound is either. One of my problems is that i've always loved so many styles. There have been times where I concentrated exclusively on hendrix and clapton and then times where I wanted to sound like Brent Mason or Albert Lee and times where I wanted to be Howard Roberts or Pat Martino and other times BB King.

And sadly, I can never get all those styles together at the same time. I did a classic rock gig a couple months before my spinal surgery. Prior to the gig, I hadn't played any rock stuff for years so, at first I was doing my regular practice routine and then trying to augment it by working on the classic rock stuff in the evenings (sorry neighbors...) but in the end, i found that the only way I could authentically cover that gig was to immerse myself in it and ended up spending a solid month doing nothing but practicing, copying and playing along with hendrix, clapton, BB king, albert king, etc...

Then after the gig, my jazz playing sucked...

Thanks, bit of a setback the last two days. Pain back up to level 5. I was helping a friend get his computer and phone setup and was sitting on an un-neck-friendly couch and looking down for a couple hours and now I'm paying the price. Must have strained some neck muscles. A little hand tingling today too...
