    I never used it for "stereo" but I have used it for channel/amp switching:

    edit: changed photo, which is from 1977. That's a '71 ES-355TDSV, my main guitar for standup gigs during the '70s and early '80s. Replaced in 1983 with sunburst ES-355TDS:

    The stereo 345 came out in the second half of 1959, IIRC. That pic (with a black background) comes from the 1960 Gibson catalog in which the stereo 355 was introduced. I got a used ‘59 345 TDSV in early ‘61 and faked that setup with my parents’ Stromberg-Carlson hifi and the used Reverberocket I got along with the guitar. Sadly, I couldn’t take the family hifi on gigs - the cabinet was bigger than a double Leslie. But it was pretty cool at home.

    The “stereo” wiring was not true stereo. Each pickup went to one channel, so you only had 2 channel output using both pickups.
