    Looks like about 3k on the very bottom and going up from there per reverb.com. I think the Heritage H-575 is also worth a look as it is fairly similar, just not quite as much depth as the 175 and is also in the 3-4k range. I was looking at somewhat similar guitars as you with the same approximate budget before I bought the Guild X-170, which is nice cause it's a grand less than the Heritage but has some similarities between a few different other guitars I also like but could never afford. I had also looked at the Eastman AR380CE John Paesano, another similar instrument in the $1500 range. \\

    Few of these instruments are available to try even in the large metro areas nearby me so it can be a roll of the dice and making best guesses. Just look for good return policies and reputable sellers before pulling the trigger online. I would suggest checking your local craigslist, as a cash offer can save money and tax vs reverb especially if you are patient and prowl regularly. Also guitar center used has lousy pics but a great return policy although 3k archtops are somewhat scarce there in my experience, and me and my wife look there frequently for electrics and acoustics both.

    I'd second the PRS 594 Hollowbody II is a great jazz /fusion tool . I've got a bunch of semi hollows, and a H 575C Heritage jazz box , the HB covers all the bases , feels weightless and acoustically it blows the rest away . They have a Piezo version (in the clip) that you can run in stereo or just blend the piezo in .
    There is an SE (student ) version of it that is very reasonable

    If I was playing fusion on the rock side, I would probably pick a guitar that can withstand some volume and dirt. So I would use my simi (Ibanez AM205 Prestige).

    If I was not going to be pushing amps and volume, I would use my PM100.

    I will not lie, I am not 100% happy with my PRS Hollowbody II. I personally think they are over priced and feel a bit chunky. However I did love it at one point, but more for a blues thing. I have the string height at PRS specs and it is a little high for me. I can not really drop it down anymore.

    I have been really happy with Eastman Romeo LA. I think it can do jazz but not the quintessential thing. To me me it has an in between type of sound. It is like a Casino with a bit more jazz then a John Lennon rock vibe. (Even though it looks like it has gold foil PUs, that is just a cover. It has Duncan fat P90s).

    These are just my thoughts… sometimes what we see, has an impact on what we hear. The typical difference between gear x, and gear y, tend to be on the subtle side of things. It seems like, unless you are dialing in a very personal or specific tone, a lot of things work. However, I certainly suffer from GAS. I am not one to judge.

    ES-175 would be a nice choice for coping classic recordings. Can be above your budget but should hold their value pretty good. Unfortunately, the (arguably) nicer modern version '59 VOS tends to have a massive neck. Regular production ES-175 from mid-90s (?) onwards would likely be heavier build and less acoustic sounding.

    Heritage H-575 from mid-90s that I've had was a heavy build as well, modern less acoustic sounding, neck medium-thick.

    Have not tried Ibanez PM but all Japanese Ibanez I've tried were nicely built.

    ES-330 or a Casino can do Grant Green, but also modern, and take sensible amounts of gain (Garry Clark Jr.). Some have slimmer necks. Ergonomics are likely to be better than a full-depth archtop.

    Eastman has some cool archtops plus 330 and 335 variations, very good quality and prices.

    An ES-175 VOS 1959 just popped up locally for about 3500. Anyone know how big the necks are on these? It's even a single pickup model!

    ‘59 VOS neck is comfy. Yes. it’s substantial, but, no, it’s not “huge”. I probably play it the most of all my archtops. It’s the one guitar that’s always out of its case. I play it, I teach with it, I love it. For me, the neck profile is perfect. I am an average sized person with average sized hands. A single pickup model would be a dream guitar. The single pickup 175s I’ve had over the years have been the most resonant and magical.

    My '59 ES-175D VOS neck is about 0.92" around the 1st fret with some shoulders. PRS says Custom 24 is 0.83", which is a big big difference in my experience.

    A quick Google says Ibanez PM-200 is 21mm / 0.83" at 1st fret. Maybe his signatures would be in line with what you're used to. Wondering if anyone here can confirm this? His old 175 was probably quite slim as well, which makes sense.
