This is dedicated to my father, Sy Zucker. It's called Nite, pops...

I'll never forget you pops. You are in my heart forever. Every breath, every note, is for you...

I'm playing a JCR Fretless bass, a JCR Fretted bass, a Yamaha SA2200 and Gibson 175 on this track through a fractal FM3 and then direct into my audio interface.

Beautiful music for tender remembrances. I love when you switch to guitar for the last two and a half minutes and then do the melody out with bass and guitar in unison. With all the layers plus drum programming involved, this sounds like a lot went into creating this work of art. Bravo.

I didn't know anything about your dad, Jack. So I did a little web searching and learned that he was quite a musician and quite a guy! Your bond must have been very special, and it shows in your tributes to him. I'm sure he was extremely proud of you too - as are we! Thanks for sharing your remembrance with us. Stay safe!

Very pretty tune, especially the end where the guitar and bass play together.

    Recording sounds good too btw.

thanks, and yeah. Not a minute goes by where I don't think about the influence he had on me and how much of a void he left in our family's lives.

Nice playing JZ and great tone. Hell, if you lived in Northern California, I would hire you to play the bass. That is some serious bass chops you have going on there. And that 175 sounds great. I am guessing you now see the reason that many of us are impressed with the electric Gibson archtops of the 90's.

Thanks so much. And what can I say? I can be stubborn and an idiot at times. You were exactly right on all counts about the '90s gibson (and so many other things from past disagreements, lol). Such a great guitar. I'm taking it into the shop in may to be a fret level and the edges of the frets trimmed back a tad so it's going to be even better!

Really liked this, Jack. Your amazing chops sometimes overwhelm me, I really like how you follow the changes a bit more here. I know you can really blow, but this was sweet and served the tune well.

    i miss my dad, too.

Awesome tune. It's great when you have a special inspiration for a tune. Were you sweeping with your thumb, or is that an optical allusion?

Thanks and condolences to you as well. We never get over a loss like this. We just learn to let the waves crash further from shore...

I do occasionally sweep with my thumb but I'm not sure if I did that in this video. I occasionally use a technique for legato playing where I alternate thumb/index/thumb/middle but it looks like thumb for some reason when I see it played back. Thanks for listening.
