I wouldn't say "loser" is appropriate. 82B seem is working some fairly sophisticated modern marketing techniques here. Hell, at this point I'm almost anxious for the release of his new jazzbox design.

As for hard vs soft case... I want to try that new styrofoam case by Godin. Anyone tried one of those yet?

i have a TRIC case for my godin. seems to protect well, very light, smells weird.

the guitar essentially rests on several "fur" pads and then is surrounded by a thin layer of space elsewhere. the styrofoam looks chintzy, but i tried picking at it in an out of the way spot and it's actually very durable.

mine is the "deluxe," which means it's covered by an ugly khaki canvas slipcase, and the whole thing closes via two zippers and a velcro strap. NOT for unacompained travel, i'd say. At least it's hideous, nobody will want to steal it.

eventually the zippers will snag and the case will be rendered useless, but i'll enjoy it until then--nice to be able to wear it on my back. If someone could perfect the design it'd be a great alternative to a hard case.
