Binding scraped on the Cameo. The color is dark antique natural.

-
That looks lovely.
Here's another one.
More on this one over here:

Always a fun day visiting Mark.

Not only a great builder but a great guitar player too.

That Smokey Tobacco Sunburst single humbucker Deluxe is Smokin’!
-
WOW - Hammer, that Gibson Frankenstein model Mark is doing for you is beyond awesome !
That back....holy cow. That is every bit as exciting as the Cameo is.
-
100% agree and that shade of orange? Natural? It's just spectacular, perfection.

You will. It is a personal project he is doing for himself. His customers come first. Gibson could learn a thing or two from Mark about great customer service.

Antique Natural. The NOS spruce JS top oxidized over time and was quite dark even before the finish was applied, as shown above.

I wonder how he did the repair? It seems he sanded or removed to the break and then added the laminate back plate on the rear of the headstock. Then the question is he only refinishes the upper part of the neck or refinish the whole neck? I don't know but to blend the finish and match it would be an art of workmanship even without repairing the neck crack. Once this is done it will be as good and probably better than the day it left the factory new.
-
I am sure Mark will put the proper S400 inlays on that back veneer too.
My guess is the repair will be perfect with the proper stinger also.
-
It would, but IIRC the skill in itself is taught in violin making (the original scroll is preserved if a violin neck is replaced).
