I don't like them. Too thick.
I dislike Les Pauls more.

It's because of Tim Lerch that I, after selling my rosewood tele boat anchor, I bought a thinline Tele, that I really, really love. Tim really makes a Tele sound like how an angel would play guitar.

Guys like Tim (and Julian Lage) are able to let out all those wonderful nuances only Telecasters got. A pleasure to listen. I wonder what kind of strings he‘s playing. I‘m always surprised most of those killer guitarists are playing regular round wound strings instead of pure nickel strings e.g.

My favorite guitar. I have 3 of them. A standard tele, an Esquire (soon to be converted into a tele), and a Cabronita Thinline. The standard tele has been my #1 for 26 years, and the Cabronita (I've had it about 6 years?) is #2.
I just feel like the tele does it all. I don't jazz with my strat, I don't rock with my Gretsch, I don't blues with my Charvel/Jackson... but I can do anything with the teles.
-
I can listen to Tim play all day!
[BTW, I think we already have an "I love teles" thread!]
-
more threads about Telesters...good.
-
Ill never argue with a tele thread. Heres mine...ive had the one on the right since I was 17!

Natural body with rosewood neck = perfection.

agreed ! I wanted a tele like that but nothing suitable came up that I could afford ....

This is my main guitar, my TVcaster. Fat neck, 2,8 kg including the Bigsby B16. Swampashbody/maple top. Barfuss pickups, the neck pkup bypasses the tone control.
Plays like a dream, sounds amazing. Warm, mighty and crystal clear. I often think I really don‘t need any other guitar.

@Stefan -- I like the one in your profile pic!

It's actually ebony!

thanks, faded candy tangerine. That’s an MJT body, unfortunately I don‘t own that Esquire anymore.

Starting at the low end but I'm happy to be here, and o, what wonders await!
