Here is a demo of my new amp gear. My polytone is getting old be be travelled around and I wanted something with a good sound but easy to carry. I've pulled the trigger on a Quilter head and a Toob12J speaker. I'm very happy with them. It's not Polytone sound, something more fenderish I would say. Anyway very classic jazz tone I think.
Best and take care.

Quilter tries to emulate the Fender sound, AFAIK. It's pretty far from a Polytone. If you want a Fender sound from a small, light head, Quilter is that. It's not my preference, but it is for many. Fred's playing makes it sound better than the one I had.
Thanks for your positive appraisals. Medblues is right it's an amp head, not a preamp. I've edited the title. Many thanks to Jim that points me to good chords. I'll try to do more like this!
Very well played and dig the tone. Nice space between the notes as well. Fellow Quilter amp owner here and love them. I have 3 different ones and my fav is their MicroPro Mach 2 head. With the right speaker cab(s) I am able to get pretty much what I want. Thanks for sharing this great work!
Gibson did it pretty well with the ES guitars, but the L line numbering is all over the place. LOL

Is there a website that breaks down the dichotomy of each model? I've been looking at them for at least a year and I'm still not sure if Broadway, Emperor or Triumph is the top of the line, and then...
I think about the changes, and the melody. Lately, after listening to a bunch of Dexter Gordon, I try to think of other heads that I can shoehorn into the changes.
yup. and the question was raised whether perfect triplet time does even exist and if it does represent swing feel or if it is per definition amateur hour gallop. my opinion: yes it exists and it does...

Thanks for your feedbacks guys!
Yup, thats right. I need to classify this better, it's in my todolist as well (the styles are not very useful any way, I find myself more using the search)

Nice - I priced this out before going with a Biltoft. He was also able to produce a full size humbucker under 10mm for a few of my guitars.
I was very curious about the Dommenget but the cost of...
