Here is a demo of my new amp gear. My polytone is getting old be be travelled around and I wanted something with a good sound but easy to carry. I've pulled the trigger on a Quilter head and a Toob12J speaker. I'm very happy with them. It's not Polytone sound, something more fenderish I would say. Anyway very classic jazz tone I think.
Best and take care.

Quilter tries to emulate the Fender sound, AFAIK. It's pretty far from a Polytone. If you want a Fender sound from a small, light head, Quilter is that. It's not my preference, but it is for many. Fred's playing makes it sound better than the one I had.
Thanks for your positive appraisals. Medblues is right it's an amp head, not a preamp. I've edited the title. Many thanks to Jim that points me to good chords. I'll try to do more like this!
Very well played and dig the tone. Nice space between the notes as well. Fellow Quilter amp owner here and love them. I have 3 different ones and my fav is their MicroPro Mach 2 head. With the right speaker cab(s) I am able to get pretty much what I want. Thanks for sharing this great work!
I'm pretty well 100% certain that he didn't do penta modes in the sense you're using the term in this thread, as modes of the standard pentatonic scale. He certainly did pentatonics and recommended...
I hear a rather dramatic difference in volume between my Toob Metro BG+ and my Vibrolux Reverb used as a cabinet with the SBUS. The two 10" cannabix rex speakers in parallel (therefore 4 ohms) are...
It's simple, Jim. The speaker's efficiency is the main guide to how much volume it will emit from the same signal. This is typically measured as SPL at 1 meter from the cone with a 1 Watt signal. ...
The more I learn something about JHS Pedals, the more they feel interesting to me.
For instance, the Haunting Mids, the Double Barrel... or this Clover, and a few more.
If you decide to give it...
Try slowing it down on youtube and singing or playing some of what he's doing. I don't have a guitar handy, but just listening at half-speed and singing some of the phrases, it's mainly...
The Formula 51 came last week and I played 2 gigs this weekend running the pedal directly into my QSC speaker and it was perfectly acceptable. I'm not a tone hound, but plugging the guitar directly...
