Here's advice from someone who's gone down many rabbit holes getting guitars exactly right: don't worry too much about the tailpiece. The guitar doesn't care. Your right hand doesn't care. Your amp doesn't care. Your ears don't care. 99% of human beings have no idea what you are talking about.
If you are looking for perfection, your sound on that instrument is heavenly. You won't find better on this planet.
You are almost as restless as me. It's a curse. It's a barrier to your art.
Love your music, not the instrument. Grow old together with both.

My point is, it think the art part is in the beauty of that instrument. I want to make it perfect. Keep it perfect. It no different than having a Rembrandt on my wall. The art is the guitar to me.
When I was little the most expensive thing in my house (by far) was my fathers 175. He didn’t let me near it. I guess the NUT didn’t fall far from the tree in that respect!
Thanks MG. You always put it right.

I boxed a little years ago. When it got down to work, it was the same except it hurt more!
I agree that the guitar can be a beautiful instrument unlike a pair of gloves hanging on the wall. Maybe the discipline is to appreciate the rich beauty of what you have and not lust for what you don't.
But pardon my hypocrisy. I have been re-seduced by a couple of my old guitars and will be getting them back soon. That's dumber than looking for new ones.

No, it takes a very special heart, a very distinctive talent, and a lot of empathy to do the things you do.
Definitely not IKEA. You're a keeper of the treasures of our music.

I hear an accomplished player delivering his own version of a tune.
