Ha ha, fretless bass guit and fiddle here too. I prefer my guitars to have frets though.

I'd play it like that... providing it doesn't buzz/rattle too much and providing it's not physically uncomfortable to play.
It's the super-elusive Guild "Fretless Wonder"

Looks doable.
Price is insane.
Guitar doesn't look very "prohibition" to me. Looks like it belongs at a Playboy Mansion party.

I'd start with the archtop, wait until about the third round of drinks and switch to the Tele.

Close enough. For really extreme cases I have a tenor banjo.

So yeah, done, Guild got me through just fine! No cramps, just clams, but normal amount
To compensate for low frets I employed whisky. The hardest part was drinking from a tea cup. Damn, Prohibition was no picnic!

Holy macaroni, $650 for a refret?!?!? I had my '49 ES-125 refretted for $220! (€200), and the guy did it perfectly. In another post I read a price of $100 for a bone nut. Man that cost me €25.... I feel for you overthere....but at least the instruments are much cheaper than with us.
Btw, my ES-125 had the same low frets as your Guild, felt funny indeed. But I didn't get cramps or anything and still sounded good, so you might get thru a 4 hour gig without problems. With heavy flatwounds you can get away with very low frets.
I would take the Guild and the Tele as a backup, as per citizenk74's advise.
**edit: oh boy, I am swinging after the bell as usual.... glad the gig went fine!
