And it IS indeed !!! Been seeing this off and on and lusting after it. Gave up the sharp cutaway model I had earlier in the year and regretted it. I love playing on my couch or the porch and a Sweet 16 is just comfort and tone. Can't really plug in here so I veer towards guitars that sound good unplugged. It was a toss up between this and a single P90 1955 ES175... Still may jump on the 175 later, hoping the stock market goes ape with everyone spending money on Cyber Monday... Anyway until it is here in hand here are some photos from my computer screen. The colors are off, a wee bit too rose, it's a natural finish that has amber over the years. Love me some bubble maple, love the soft cutaway and really like the fleur d lis inlay on the tailpiece...

Big Mike,
Happy NGD brother! That is really very nice. The '55 175 w/P90 is also a great idea. I have a '55, w/2 P90's, and I love it. You must have an enormous place to store all of your guitars.

Wow, looks like a singer indeed. I have never played a Heritage, would love to know how they feel, sound, etc.

FWIW, the Heritage Golden Eagle I’ve tried at a shop this summe may well be the best archtop I’ve laid hands on so far. Fantastic acoustic sound, fantastic amplified sound, fantastic everything. The price was a bit less to my liking :P

I've tried uploading the real pictures but I cant. These pic's do this guitar absolutely NO justice.
Mikey simply takes a picture of his computer screen with his phone and then posts the pictures that way. That makes the pictures look crappy.
This might actually be one of the prettiest guitars I've ever seen.
Mike you got some beauties.

Hey Big~ You've gotta stop buying all of these dogs! LOL!
Man, that is one of the sweetest looking Sweet 16's I've ever seen! And its got to be a total custom one-off with a non-standard Venetian (rounded) Cutaway, Fleur de lis inlays, Stinger-less headstock and of course, the extreme 'choice woods' upgraded Curly/Bubble/Quilt Maple back and sides.
From what I've read, Quilt Maple gives guitars a slightly softer tone than flame Maple. That's a good thing in my book.
When does it arrive?

congrats..that's a nice looker! that maple back is trippy!!..and matches pickguard!
great couch guitar...enjoy
cheers
ps- plus its got thomastiks!

that's my former '16! most have seen this guitar. the back pattern is identical to your photo. are you certain BM that the "inlay" is an inlay and not a sticker? it wasn't there when I owned it.

hah..funny!! all in the family

Amazing that it made it back to the East coast when it was sold to a Seattle jazz guitarist.

WOW 2B, it's a small world... If that IS an overlay decal and not an inlay I'm not messing with it.
And yeah that is the over the top custom woods package - rounded cutaway special order, the whole thing just screams MIKEY !!!!!!!
Yeah I gotta stop buying dogs...
Speaking of animals: I got a call an hour ago from my former neighbor in Jersey - she adopted two of my cats and my chickens when I moved... The rooster got nailed by a hawk defending his girls, so she got another rooster. AND....
She called to tell me my polish frizzle hen Loretta is hatching babies (via the new rooster) as we speak. I told her to move everyone into a freshly lined pet carrier and keep them in the house, away from any coop drama. Jeez fellas, I'm a grandpa !! I'm more excited about that than the guitar right now. I have a very special Cohiba, called a Behike 54, I didn't even smoke it on my birthday. I'm smoking it tonight. Have a snootful for Loretta and her new brood. When I get photos I'll post 'em...
What a wonderful life...

Loretta as a wee baby

Dang... The babies, well they could look like anything. Like human kids their hair changes, Loretta is all black with this weird sorta pompadour that sticks straight up. She's a real sweetheart. Frizzle hens are generally some of the best mother material in the chicken world. It takes 20.5 days from the time the egg is set on to hatch. So being some of the eggs were laid later that means there should be more babies later. And her sister Bagel is a flat frizzle bantam cochin, and once a hen goes broody other hens get in there and lay their eggs like they're saying "hey hatch these for me". It's a thing that is hard to explain unless it happens to you. It turns you into a 6 year old kid with his first puppy or kitty - or in the case chick. The chicks are very playful and flirty, they run around like crazy and then they crash real hard. First time Nan and I had baby chicks and they were sleeping, they were so asleep we thought they'd freakin' die... Priceless stuff. So glad for Liz who is one of the most amazing animal people I ever met. She's got horses, miniature horses, goats, pot belly pigs, my chickens, a few of my cats, a couple dogs. She's always getting something. Her husband is in construction and builds her another whatever to accommodate the new critters. They started out with 3.5 acres and now have grabbed up another 6 or 7...

The back on the guit looks like a Martian landscape photo. I normally don't care for figuring that intense, but gosh ... that one's crazy.
HNGD, bud.

Broke out a very special cigar, a 2015 Cohiba Behike 54. My first ever. Got a 10 box for The Holidays. It was really ver special. Nubbed it.

Wow. You should post shots of that guitar with the American Eagle. I thought the American Eagle had the best bubble/quilted maple I ever saw. But wow. That is quite spectacular. Nice score.

Well my regular Fed Ex driver appears just after 3pm with my guitar. Much to my pleasant surprise it's 50 here now and the box was 50 more or less so I unpacked it, yeah the case was fine. Into the office to remove the painters tape I asked the seller to use to hold the pickup in place (Marty Grass) and the bridge also. Take her outside to shoot in the fading light. To my pleasant surprise that IS an inlay on the tailpiece, I've done my share of those pearl decals (have block pearl overlays on my prototype Eastman) and that is no decal... Yeah. She really is nice, light and I see no issues anywhere. I'll give her a night in my office to get used to the Chicago weather before I tune her up (it's detuned to D). Kudos to the seller, Frank, who really knows his stuff. I was very pleased with his packing job. WOW...
