I own a GBAA built in Westerly in 2000-2001 #065. It is a phenomenal guitar with a beautiful opulent brown finish. I don't have a problem with the scale length but as my playing has changed to mostly all fingers, I find the sting spacing just a bit too tight. I bought it new in 2001. It was my 50th birthday present to myself. My heirs will be the ones selling it.

    Big Mike and Mark,

You guys are the Major Leagues of archtop trading. I get serious satisfaction just sitting on the third base line, marking my scorecard.

Big Mike, that's a great Guild you got, there. Like your L-5, that's going to be your day-to-day archtop, I should think. Then, there are the special, take 'em out on Sunday archtops--of which you have quite a few to choose from.

Big - that is simply a magnificent guitar, for which you are duly thankful. Congratulations, and express your joy and thankfulness in good health!

Marty, why did you change the tailpiece on the Super Eagle? Functional reasons or cosmetic only?

Patrick did that. He didn't like the looks of a finger tailpiece plus he had access to an original Heritage tailpiece with an ebony insert. Patrick had Aaron Cowles do the work.

Personally, either tailpiece is fine with me. But the short answer is that Patrick did the change for cosmetic reasons.
