Yes, they indeed told me that the polish is so light that it is not expected to affect the sound noticeably.
For now I really only keep on the low E as the other TI Spectrum strings simply still sound too good ... and squeak less (maybe that's built up "lube"?). I also want to compare the broken-in sound to that of the Spectrums because despite the latter being "bronze" they're visibly not (the same kind of) phosphor-bronze.
Since I had it off I did also run the Spectrum 6th through a piece of 2000 grid sandpaper (which now has classy streaks on it
). Not easy to do this uniformly and we'll see if it had any effect (again, on RH comfort).
