Sounds more like surf music meets jazz standards rather than a Jazzmaster being used under a "jazz" scenario.

I have found this Acoustasonic Jazzmasterwhich I've experimented w/ using Rouxinol R-30 Strings (Wound B String) so I can get an interesting Jazz tone. The Fender Acoustasonic Guitars are actually Semi-Hollow Body so if you use the Magnetic Pickup it does sound a bit like a Hollow Body Jazz Guitar, & w/ Rouxinol R-30 strings (using the Wound B String) it'll sound even more like a Jazz Guitar. The Rouxinol Strings even include a Special Pick that's kind of in between a Jazz Guitar Pick & a Fin Shaped Guitar pick. These Acoustasonic Guitars allow for low action w/ very light strings because 1) these pickups are actually quadruple wound (the coils are actually wound 4 times as a normal pickup which makes them 4 times as loud), & 2) the frets are polished almost flush w/ the fingerboard so that the strings have more room to vibrate.

I have this DVD and was wondering what guitar Joe is playing here. Now I know. Sounds great to my ears and love the look. Are these Jaguars popular with jazz players? I wouldn't mind trying one. What say you?
