Congrats on the new Vintage strat clone!
Do any of the guitar shops you've been to have the Sqiuer Standard telecaster line? If so and you have not tried one I'd suggest you try one out. They have really nice 9.5" radius necks w/rosewood fingerboard and very good hardware and pickups. I believe this guitar will yield the classic tele experience but also be reliable. Good luck with your search!

Isn't it all about the Thomann Harley Benton Prince guitar?

Yes Squier Standard is quite available... lots of them actually.
There are also plenty of used Teles for - different origin, customized and not, cheap and expensive etc. It just takes time to check them...

Mike,
could you tell how did you get that bass tone? Sounds nice... I tried a pedal once but the sound was more like synth
PS
I tried to insert the line to your Pedals video.. but it always made anothe clip with a guy singing 'Were you there')))Last edited by Jonah; 04-14-2017 at 05:50 PM.

I was surprised to find one at all, but tried it and bought the last one available at my local music shop, where it's now listed as unavailable. (I checked last night before posting.)

IMO, the Fender Baja tele gives the most bang for the buck. Custom shop designed, great neck, MIM, $799.

I could not find one anywhere... I read that EH pushed them to kae it away because they competed Micro POG at a price almost 3 times cheaper.... not sure about it but I could not find thme used or new.I was surprised to find one at all, but tried it and bought the last one available at my local music shop, where it's now listed as unavailable. I do find the bass sound worth having, but not at any price.
Yesterday I did a tour around shops...
I tried Mooer Pure Octave and Mooer Pitch Shifter... both are terrible to my ear, the intervals are not pure, the delay is there.. and the bass tone also is terrible ot my ear...
I tried Micro POG, it sounds very cool but it's not quite what I want now... and it is very expensive.
I saw vids on Boss-OC3 (Christian did one actually, and also there's very cool demo by Gilad Hilkenstein)...
I tried it and finally bought it used in almost perfect condition at bouat eur 90 ...
What I loved was it had few modes: Poly mode allows you to split register, the point of split is controlable to certain degree. So you can make your bass string go bass and high string will stay just clean sound with no octaves..
It has also very nice overdrive mode installed...
And reguar Oct2 mode
Lass but not least it has two inputs for Guitar and Bass. And two outoputs - for direct clean, and bass... so you can connect the bass sound to bass amp... and the clean sound to guitar amp...
this way you can also put the looper ... if you put looper to bass channel... you can play with a looper both bass and melody.. and then only the bass line will be looped... (or you can do vice versa if you want)
I want to try it with a Freeze now...
I think it will take sometime to regulate the sound... because I have only a small amp at home very dark and all together they sound very messy through it (and even more messy with a looper)....
I switched bass line to the comp and will try to make bass amp emulation there
But you really have to adjust your technique.. because bass line should sound very independent... if you play it as regular guitar-chord style it sounds a bit wierd... like bass player is synichronized to evey nuance of a guiatr player)))
To my feel this effect could be used fine as bass looper, or as real effect - I mean not immitating absent bass player... but kinf=d of sythn thing... more modern style.. when you add somme bass plines hear and there etc.Last edited by Jonah; 04-20-2017 at 04:29 AM.

G&L Tribute series and Squier Classic vibes are the best value for the money, period. Squiers have a pretty thin but smooth neck I love mine. You won't be disappointed with any of them.

You're right on about mojo, sound, and being light.

Problems adjusting the truss rod? No need to remove the neck. You just need one of those thingies they have at the hardware store for paint buckets.

I have a Custom '72 Road Worn and I totally agree, it's my favourite guitar, those Road Worn have something special

mine is like that too, i need to unscrew the pickguard and move it back a bit to access the truss rod
.. at least it is stable enough! Best thing a find about it is the vintage neck. 7.25 radius + vintage frets = a world of twang!! (not my first choice these tiny frets but the sound is worth it..)

Sorry, those are for tightening laces on speed skates. Fwiw, you can get them excruciatingly tight
